Neil deGrasse Tyson will apologize to George W. Bush as soon as he finds ‘a good medium’

Twitchy reported that Neil deGrasse Tyson took to his Facebook page to halfheartedly admit that he was wrong for using erroneous quotes to smear George W. Bush. Tyson was pressed on why he hasn’t directly apologized to Bush.

.@neiltyson Why not say "My apologies to George W. Bush for repeatedly & completely misstating what he meant in that quote about 'our God.'"

— Christopher Chabris (@cfchabris) September 28, 2014

Tyson responded that he’s looking for a medium:

@cfchabris Thanks. Sure, I plan to say something like that soon. I’m looking for a good medium & occasion.

— Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson) September 28, 2014

Others quickly pointed out that the medium he’s currently using or the one (Facebook) he used previously would work just fine.

@seanmdav @Aaron_RS @neiltyson a good medium would be twitter, and a good time would be any.

— Alexander The Great (@EnblocGarand) September 28, 2014

@neiltyson @cfchabris I hear that Twitter thing is a pretty good medium…just tag in @laurawbush , she'll tell George

— Roger (@Roger247) September 28, 2014

. @neiltyson How about now? On Twitter? What better medium? @MichelleNMeyer @MomMilkshake

— Doug كافر (@dthurston) September 28, 2014

@neiltyson @cfchabris translation…"if I wait long enough, everybody will forget about it."

— JB Neal (@JBJneal44) September 28, 2014

@neiltyson @cfchabris Why? You didn't need a good medium or occasion to lie.

— Jim Treacher (@jtLOL) September 28, 2014

.@neiltyson There’s never a bad time or place to say “I was wrong and I’m sorry.”

— Sean Davis (@seanmdav) September 28, 2014

Nope.

Twitchy told you about the plights of @FreeMarket_US and @ChrisLoesch — both knocked off Twitter unjustly and then reinstated by Twitter after a surge of support from fellow conservatives online. The fight continues. Tonight, conservative activists publicized the suspension of @shanewright22.

I wasn't going to tweet this evening…dog tired. But we can't let fellow conservatives be silenced #FreeShaneWright22 #tcot

Vocal conservative social-media activists helped bring the infestation of “progressive” flag-spam abusers to Twitter’s attention. Leftists scoffed at #twittergulag, but Twitter responded by reinstating many accounts.

As Dana Loesch reported — in a smackdown of ill-informed Yahoo.com reporter Chris Wilson – the Leftists’ maliciously coordinated blocks of conservative users are real and the subject of Twitter investigation:

From Twitter, bold my emphasis:

You’ve been unsuspended, and I’ve asked the team to monitor the account […] we are still investigating the best ways to work on this …
[…]

the coordinated blocks may still trip the automated systems, but we will try to stay a step ahead
[…]

You may also refer to my note that coordinated blocks could trip the automated spam systems …
[…]

Please note your follower/following counts maybe a little screwy for an hour or so after suspension/reinstatement. Thanks for your patience.

… It was suspended and it was a coordinated effort and it seems some of those who are spinning the fastest are the ones guilty of the TOS violation themselves…

An activist has created @FreeChrisLoesch (not affiliated with Chris Loesch) to keep track on Twitter of conservatives stuck in #twittergulag. There is also a @TwitterGulag account to help publicize the plight of those targeted by progressive silencers.

Look who they let out of #TwitterGulag ! Thanks for everyone's support and well wishes! #freepaulrevered1776 #FreePatriots #FreeChrisLoesch

We also heard from Angie Mancuso, who is now unsuspended and got similar confirmation that she was victim of a coordinated spam block attack. She notes that prior to her suspension, she had been interacting with #stoprush liberal Twitter activists.

@ShaneWright22 Congrats on your release from #twittergulag. Just got out myself!

— Angie Mancuso (@AngieMancuso) May 12, 2012

Ken Gardner has some advice:

PSA: trolls are trying to get people suspended by baiting them to respond, then reporting them for spam from their mentions column. Beware!

— Ken Gardner (@kesgardner) May 12, 2012

@AngieMancuso They bait you into responding, then they report you from their mentions column where spam reports have greater weight.

This Veteran Realized There Was No Vet Apparel For Women, So She Made Her Own

“Any girl can wear heels, but it takes a woman to wear combat boots.” BuzzFeed News spoke with the U.S. Army veteran behind the clothes.

1. Nadine Noky, a veteran of the Iraq war, was sick of never seeing any apparel for women vets.

“I used to walk into stores and see the giant red, white, and blue veteran men’s shirts with eagles all over and think, Why is there no vet apparel for women? How do I let people know I’m a vet?,” Noky told BuzzFeed News.

Nadine Noky

3. So in March 2014, the Venice, Florida, native learned how to screen print and started Lady Brigade, which she believes is the first and only female veterans clothing line.

“People have an idea of what a veteran looks like: a guy coming from Iraq or Afghanistan, a WWII Vet,” Noky said. “They don’t think of women.”

5. Women now make up about 15.7% of the military, the largest portion in history. Noky believes it’s time for the classic image of a veteran to change.

The 29-year-old said that she’s often approached while wearing the shirts by people surprised she’s a veteran.

Noky posted this selfie wearing one of her designs with the caption: “Headed to the VA for an appointment — gotta represent!”

7. Noky was in the military from 2002 to 2007 and left the military as a specialist. She was deployed to Iraq in 2005, four months after the birth of her son, Sean.

9. She now single-handedly runs the company out of her house in Florida where she lives with Sean, now 10 years old.

Lady Brigade

11. “I wanted to stay away from red, white, and blue. I didn’t want any eagles, I didn’t want stars. I wanted to make shirts women will actually want to wear,” Noky said.

13. She designs and prints all the shirts herself, runs and designs the website and blog, and personally packages and sends each shirt.

Lady Brigade

15. Before it was ever a clothing company, Lady Brigade was a Facebook group for women vets to address concerns and take part in the female veteran community, and it still serves that purpose.

“Everything in the veteran community is so separate, you don’t generally know there are any other women vets around. So I wanted to start a community where we could find each other,” Noky said.

She added, “Many women vets don’t self-identify as veterans. Some don’t even know they are veterans. They just don’t associate themselves with the idea of it the way men do.”

17. Noky, who is currently organizing the first-ever Women Veterans Conference, has been told by other women veterans that she and Lady Brigade are “an inspiration” and that her clothes make them feel proud.

“Women aren’t proud enough to go around telling everyone they’re veterans like men do, but they should,” she said. “So now we can wear it on our chests. Literally.”
